The Sentro ng Wika at Kultura ng Austria at Pilipinas conducted on June 20, 2015 Filipino Day at Schwedenplatz in Vienna’s 1st District. Objective od the event is to celebrate the vibrant Filipino culture, thus showcasing the richness of the Filipino culture.
The event also featured the successful integration of Filipino migrants in Austria. Invited Austrian and Filipino lecturers discussed issues about the Philippines and Filipino life in Austria.
Aside from showing the colorful and rich cultural heritage through music and folk dances, the organizers offered Austrian and Filipino delicacies, too.
Primary objective of the event is to promote and share the diversity of Filipino migrants already living in Austria and their descendants. Furthermore, it is also a reflection of their dynamic presence in the Austrian society
This project is a joint venture with the Embassy of the Philippines in Austria, the City of Vienna – MA 7 and the Philippine Nurses Association – Austria.
Ms. Arlene Castaneda heads the Sentro ng Wika at Kultura ng Austria at Pilipinas.
